On Tuesday, December 1, we’re hosting a day of Creative Jams starting in London, moving on to New York and culminating in Los Angeles. The Creative Jams are a two-part event: teams of designers will compete against each other to create a project in real-time based on a given theme, and leading creatives will provide inspirational and educational talks. These include James Victore, Nicolas Menard, Nicole Jacek, Martin Schmetzer, Sylwana Zybura, Sarah Silver, Sara Blake, Ryan Schude and Brian Rea.

Of course not everyone can attend the Creative Jams in person, so we’ll stream the events live all day on Tuesday December 1 on the Adobe Twitch channel, and we’ll hold the Creative Jam competition online as well – so anyone can join!

The stream and live events will start at 9am PST (US West Coast) and will continue for more than 12 hours. We’ll be streaming talks and interviews with participants, as well as mixing in in-stream creation. The Creative Jams launch a week of creative streaming, so be sure to follow Adobe on Twitch and check the schedule for what’s live when.

Join the online Creative Jam and win

You can participate from wherever you are and win prizes! We’ll unveil the theme on Dec. 1 and you’ll have 24 hours to submit your artwork.

Here’s how to take part:

  1. Grab the latest Creative Cloud apps on Adobe.com and get ready for intense creativity.
  2. Watch us on Twitch at 9am PDT on Tuesday, Dec. 1, to discover the theme, or follow @CreativeCloud on Twitter as we’ll tweet the theme too.
  3. Create artwork or an animation based on the theme.
  4. Publish your entry on Behance AND tweet the link to your project using the #CreativeJam hashtag before the deadline of 9AM PST on Wednesday, Dec. 2. Bonus points for including shots of the work in progress, the tools you used to create your work, as well as your process and inspiration. Feel free to submit more than one entry — you’ll get more chances to win.

You can view previous Creative Jam entries on the Creative Jam Behance page, and see an example of a submission here.

We’ll pick winners all day Tuesday, Dec. 1 during the live stream, so publish your entry as soon as it’s ready.

The final award ceremony will be live streamed on the Adobe Twitch Channel on Dec. 2 at 2PM PST. We’ll review the top entries and give away prizes including books, posters, Creative Cloud subscriptions, and tablets.

Tips for Creative Jam success from past winners

Collaborate in Creative Cloud to save time

Even if your submission is personal, you can collaborate with other designers to save time. Use  Creative Cloud apps and Creative Cloud Libraries to help you be the most efficient in your creative process. If you’re not a member of Creative Cloud, download a free trial from Adobe.com. Creative Cloud Libraries let you share design assets with other people in real-time – such as colors, graphics, brushes and text styles – so you can work smarter, more quickly and be creative.

Get a head start by choosing pictures and illustrations from Adobe Stock

Adobe Stock is a new service with more than 40 million royalty-free stock photos, illustrations, and graphics. Using Creative Cloud Libraries, you can easily integrate Adobe Stock assets right into your artwork.

Design anywhere with free CC mobile apps

Adobe has more than a dozen mobile apps that can speed up your creative process. The most helpful for Creative Jams are Adobe Capture CC, Adobe Sketch, Photoshop Mix, and Photoshop Fix. Use your iPad, iPhone, or Android phone to take a picture of anything that inspires you. Then use Capture CC to extract a color theme, create a Look or turn an interesting shape into a vector graphic or brush that you can use in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, Comp CC, and other Creative Cloud apps.

Good luck! Have fun! We can’t wait to see what you create. See you on Twitch on Dec. 1!
