Today we’re thrilled to be revealing what’s coming next to our professional video and audio desktop applications, with new features for Adobe Premiere Pro CC, Adobe Media Encoder CC, Adobe Audition CC, and Adobe After Effects CC. All of these new releases will be available to Creative Cloud members later this year. If you’ll be at the upcoming IBC Show in Amsterdam, join us at our booth to see these new features in action, or check out these videos!
This preview introduces Team Projects, a hosted service that lets editors and motion graphics artists work collaboratively in projects within Premiere Pro CC, After Effects CC, and Prelude CC. This service adds deep collaboration features like version history and smart conflict resolution. Post-production professionals can share their edits and get the latest changes from collaborators, allowing concurrent changes to happen on a single project – which is particularly powerful for workflows where visual effects and motion graphics are being done in After Effects at the same time as the edit is being refined in Premiere Pro.
Adhere to broadcast regulations and expand your audience with captions and subtitles; whether to enliven silent auto-play video previews on Facebook, generate versions for different languages, or improve accessibility for hearing impaired viewers with closed captions. The deeply integrated workflow allows you to create Open Captions just as easily as creating closed captions. Customize your text, position, background and font color, and use the new Edge Color feature to ensure your captions are easy to read on any background. Adjust the duration and location of your captions right in the timeline, making it faster to create captions from scratch and adjust them to fit your storyline.
Expand your creativity with enhancements to the Lumetri Color tool set! New color pickers allow you to make immediate, intuitive selections directly on the video itself when working with HSL secondaries and white balance. Premiere Pro now delivers the best HDR viewing experience for your audience with support for HDR10 metadata workflows, enabling editing of HDR10 and output for new HDR-enabled TVs and displays.
New VR support expands on the powerful virtual-reality features we released earlier this year. In this release, Premiere Pro auto-detects whether your VR media is monoscopic, stereoscopic over/under, or stereoscopic right/left, so you can focus on your work and let Premiere Pro determine the proper VR settings behind the scenes. Additionally, you can now choose to hide the VR controls while in VR mode for a more immersive editing and playback experience. And of course, when exporting and sharing your video, you can easily add a metadata flag to your content so that VR-capable video players, such as YouTube or Facebook, will automatically recognize that your content is 360, giving viewers the full virtual reality experience.
Destination Publishing allows you to render and share videos to popular web locations such as YouTube, Facebook and Twitter from directly within Premiere Pro and Adobe Media Encoder. This release adds direct publishing to Behance, the world’s largest creative community, allowing you to showcase your work and share ideas with your peers.
Live Text Templates are ideal for adding visual production value to any type of recurring content, such as tutorial videos, web series, broadcast graphics, and more. Using Live Text Templates, an After Effects user can create an animated lower third, intro or outro, and choose which attributes are editable in Premiere Pro, ensuring both visual consistency and flexibility. Now, with enhanced Live Text Templates, editors can harness the power of After Effects directly within Premiere Pro to streamline their branded graphics workflow. Thanks to a new file format Live Text Templates can be used without requiring an After Effects license. Live Text Templates have enhanced Typekit support, so any missing fonts can automatically be synced in your project.
Take the guesswork out of keyboard-driven editing and work faster with new visual keyboard shortcut mapping. Learn commonly used shortcuts with the default shortcuts map, or customize your own keyboard optimized for the way you want to work.
Improved ingest in Adobe Media Encoder includes the ability to stitch multiple clips from your camera media together into a single file for easier file management, letting you get to your editing faster.
And so much more…
Additional features include expanded file format support and new audio effects that bring higher quality real-time audio processing to the Premiere Pro audio engine. Render sequences faster with new GPU-accelerated effects and improved support for Apple Metal. A now faster Dynamic Link between Premiere Pro and After Effects makes working with both applications more streamlined.
There’s plenty more to come in the next release of Premiere Pro CC and Adobe Media Encoder CC. Stay tuned!
